SENATOR RODERICK D. WRIGHT ANNOUNCES AVAILABILITY OF STATE FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM APPLICATIONS

INGLEWOOD – Senator Roderick D. Wright (D-Inglewood) today reminded the public that applications are currently being accepted for four state government fellowship programs, with an application deadline date of February 24, 2010. The fellowship programs are the California Senate Fellows Program, the Executive Fellowship Program, the Judicial Administration Fellowship Program and the Jesse Marvin Unruh Assembly Fellowship Program.

Sacramento, CA - Senator Roderick D. Wright’s freshman year as a state Senator proved his effectiveness as a seasoned legislator who sees the big picture and is willing to fight the good fight. He had one of the highest percentages of bills signed by the Governor. His bills passed into law included legislation that will aid job creation, law enforcement, veterans’ benefits and worker safety.

Sacramento – One of the most hard fought bills of the legislative session is going to the Governor. Senator Roderick D. Wright’s bill, SB 827, clears the way for more than 60,000 new jobs and $4 billion in economic activity in Southern California. The bill passed through the Senate on Friday night by a 27-9 vote.

The Senate Environmental Quality Committee voted 7-0 on Wednesday in favor of Senate Bill 696, one of the most hard fought bills of this legislative session.

America I AM: The African American Imprint is a four-year touring museum exhibition celebrating 500 years of African American contributions to the nation through artifacts, documents, multimedia, photos and music. The exhibition endeavors to bring together Americans of all cultures, ages and backgrounds to celebrate and further understand the indelible African American imprint on the country. Twelve galleries encompassing over 15,000 square feet will take visitors through a journey fro struggle to triumph to celebration. The showing at the California Science Center will run from October 30, 2009 to April 10, 2010. For more information, click here.
